Happy New Year!

Can’t believe we said goodbye to 2009 last night!  We had a great time ringing in the new year and surprisingly, Heather made it out till 12:30.  Woot Woot!  We had a most excellent holiday season.  The girls were spoiled as usual from all the family and friends.  When Katie is asked what her favorite Christmas gift was, she proudly replies “PRESENTS!”  This year was so enjoyable because both of the girls really got into the holiday spirit.  They enjoyed all of the family and friend gatherings.

Halloween 2009

I can’t believe that we have not posted since July!  We have been updating our www.tasteofthefoxvalley.comwebsite and due to that have neglected our family blog!  So here are some updates since our last post.  Abigail is doing awesome in kindergarten!  She transitioned with ease and has been enjoying her school experiences.  Katie is getting as big as ever and is talking like a 5 year old, at the ripe age of 2.5.  We have been busy with work and school and trying to get out and enjoy ourselves when we can.  Had a great time at the packer game last weekend and celebrated halloween with a party at the Zemlock household!  We are doing all we can to avoid the unavoidable (H1N1) and looking forward to the holidays and a cruise we have planned in January..

Door County

We just returned from our mini vacation in Fish Creek.  We spent time biking in Penninsula, swimming, shopping and of course our favorite pasttime eating  : )  We had a great lunch at the Wild Tomato which is directly across from the state park.  We tried out the tag along bike for Abigail and she LOVED it.  She kept singing and screaming like she was on a rollercoaster.  Katie had lots of fun playing in the pool and seeing the train at P C Junction.  See pics on the right. 

First Haircut

Katie had her first haircut on Friday,  June 26th.  She was a little uneasy, but Abigail showed her that is was no big deal!  She especially liked picking a treat when she was done!  Check out the pics

Sunday Boating

We braved the near gale winds on Sunday and ventured on Lake Winnebago!  It was quite the bumpy and wet ride to stretches, but totally fun!  Katie said, this is fun momma as Heather was trying to keep her from bouncing out of the boat!  The kids enjoyed swimming and checking out all of the awesome boats.  I think we need a 30 ft sundancer  : )

Happy 5th Birthday Abigail

Can’t believe it, but Abigail is 5!  We had a great time celebrating and thanks to all who were able to join us!  For the past few weeks Katie kept saying, “Abby’s birthday is coming up..  We are having frosting.”  And frosting we had.  The Hannah Montana cake turned out great!  Can never go wrong with Manderfield’s thats for sure.  We have had lots going on, so unfortunately we have not been up for for a few weekends, but we are looking forward to the 4th.  Check out the bday pics on the pictures page.

chicago

We had  an amazing weekend in Chicago!  We had a great time hanging out with Stacy and Scott exploring the city.  Stacy found a new restaurant close to Rush Street called Perenial and it was fantastic.  Thanks for the hospitality Rovegno’s. 

Day out with Thomas

Exciting day for all of the Thomas the Train fans in NE Wisconsin!  We took the girls to the Day out with Thomas at the railroad museum in Green Bay.  Both the girls had a great time riding the train as well as participating in the various activities.  Abigail is done with school for the summer, and Heather has two days left!  All of the girls are excited to begin the summer festivities. 

New Slide

We had an exciting weekend last Saturday when PaPa and I brought a swing set home for the girls. It was a great find, papa checked it out and thought the girls definately “needed” it : ) It took some creativity to get it to the backyard, (thanks Sturns) and some paint, but it is up, running and ready to go! The girls love it. Thanks for all your work Papa.

Wednesday was a tough day for Abigail. She had new tubes placed in her ears and her adenoids removed. We are hopeful that her chronic ear infection issue will be over, well at least for another year. She was very brave, but it was a rough time for her. If you are in need of an ENT, we would highly recommend Dr. Prehn.

Happy Mother’s Day from Mountain House

We are enjoying Mother’s Day from the deck at Mountain House!  Heather and I started celebrating Mother’s Day with a dinner out last night with the Grisbaber’s at MJ Beans in Townsend about 18 miles north of our place.  I ended the evening with a gar on in Dean’s screen porch.  Gotta love it.  For Mother’s Day, the girls and I made a short video for Heather wishing her a happy day.  I will attach a clip of the bloopers  : )
